We Are Hiring! Head of Operations

Every single one of our foods are handmade at non-profit organizations in Nova Scotia that provide invaluable work experience for folks living with barriers to the mainstream workforce.

We are looking for an Operations expert to round out our leadership team.

The role includes:

  • Full management of ongoing production schedules at our (currently) 3 Nova Scotia-based social enterprise co-packers, including short and long-term forecasting. This role is the principal point of contact and guide for each of our 3 copacker’s production managers.
  • Manage distribution from our production facilities to national grocery warehouses
  • Manage a portfolio of 20+ raw materials and packaging suppliers through the supply chain, ensuring inventory flows into production facilities efficiently and smoothly to meet production deadlines and quality standards
  • Adhere to strict Quality Assurance compliance and food safety compliance with raw materials suppliers and production facilities
  • Consistent collaboration with leadership team to create and execute 3 and 5 year growth plans
  • Develop training and KPIs to utilize and track performance of operations and production partners
  • Enhancement of supplier and production partnership culture, satisfaction, and energy.
  • Travel as required

Job Requirements

- Full time position in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia

- 5+ years’ experience in an operations role

- Experience in supply chain and food production management an asset

- Advanced organizational leadership skills

- Excellent communication skills; open & transparent communication is essential at MwL

- Experience working in or in collaboration with non-profit sector or social enterprise an asset

- Proven managerial and leadership experience managing diverse teams; strong leadership, negotiation skills

- Drivers license and own vehicle an asset
